A private car takes you from Cairo to Bahariya Oasis, about four hours, where you change to your own 4x4 with a local crew. You cross the Black Desert, stop at Crystal Mountain and reach the White Desert in the late afternoon, when the chalk formations turn gold. At an approved site your crew sets up a private premium camp for your group, with upgraded bedding and a better dinner than on a standard camping trip, and the night sky is yours. After sunrise and breakfast you have lunch and drive back to Cairo. Full board, from lunch on day one to lunch on day two, water and the protected area fees are included. Nights are cold from November to February, so warm layers help. Price per person: $395 for 2 guests, $375 for 3, $335 for 4, $315 for 5, $295 for 6, $295 for 7 and $270 for 8.
