About this tour
See the Giza Plateau on foot with Mahmoud, a licensed Egyptologist guide. You meet him at the Sphinx-gate ticket office, buy your entrance ticket at the gate and walk from the Great Sphinx up to the Great Pyramid of Khufu and on to the viewpoints over the plateau, hearing along the way how and why the pyramids were built. The tour takes about three hours and is private for your party. The price is fixed per person: €29 for one guest, €23 per person from 2 guests. Sphinx gate and the Great Sphinx
Meet Mahmoud at the Sphinx-gate ticket office and enter the plateau beside the Valley Temple of Khafre. Stand in front of the Great Sphinx and hear who carved it and why it faces the rising sun.
The Great Pyramid of Khufu
Walk up to the pyramids of Khafre and Khufu. Mahmoud explains how the Great Pyramid was built and what lies inside it. Going inside needs an extra ticket.

No. You buy your Giza Plateau ticket at the gate: 700 EGP for foreign adults and 350 EGP for foreign students with a valid student card. Going inside the Great Pyramid needs an extra ticket. Our price covers the guide.
How do I get to the meeting point?
The Sphinx-gate ticket office is in Nazlet El-Semman, in front of the Sphinx. A taxi or a ride-hailing app can take you there: ask for the Sphinx gate or use the map link above. Transport is not included.
Can I combine this with the Grand Egyptian Museum tour?
Yes. The Grand Egyptian Museum is next door to the Giza Plateau, so both guided tours fit into one day. Book both and tell us which one you want first; we agree the start times with you.
